Discernment Counseling

Coming Soon

Sometimes the question isn't how to improve a relationship — it's whether to stay in it at all.

Discernment Counseling is a brief, structured process designed for couples where one or both partners are uncertain about the future of the relationship. It's not couples therapy. The goal isn't to fix the relationship; it's to help each of you gain enough clarity and confidence to decide on a path forward.

That path is one of three: continuing on as things are, separating, or committing to a genuine effort at change through couples therapy. Discernment Counseling creates the space to consider each of these honestly, without pressure.

The process is intentionally short — typically one to five sessions — and structured differently than traditional couples therapy. Each partner has individual time with me alongside joint sessions, which allows for more candor and reflection than couples work typically affords.

This is not about deciding who is right or who is to blame. It's about helping both of you move forward with greater clarity, whatever that looks like, together or apart.
